1. I don’t like traffic. I am from Miami so I
always drive through it.
Why
it exists: There is so much traffic everywhere because everyone has a car
and no one carpools to their destinations.
2. People who don’t put their turning signals on
when turning at the last second.
Why it
exists: They sometimes forget to put the turning signal on or don’t care
to. It causes me to step on my brakes too quickly which can cause a fender
bender.
3. When workers at a store are rude or there is
poor customer service.
Why it
exists: This may happen because a previous customer was being rude or disrespectful.
It’s your job to help the customer find what they are looking for and if not then
you’re not doing your job correctly.
4. When I pay to have my nails done and my nails
chip the next day.
Why
it exists: This happens because I either don’t use good polish or because
I’m working a lot with my hands so they’re bound to mess up.
5. When people interrupt me when I’m saying a
story.
Why it
exists: They usually interrupt because they want to give their input or
provide feedback, but they should wait to hear the entire story so they know
what to say after.
6. When people are chewing with their mouth open.
Why it
exists: This usually happens when people are eating and speaking at the
same time or they just have rude manners.
7. Nails scratching on a board.
Why it
exists: This happens when teachers want to get a student’s attention. There
are other ways to do so instead of scratching your nails.
8. People who walk slow and suddenly stop right in
front of you that you bump into them.
Why it
exists: They don’t take into consideration that there may be someone behind
them. They most likely stop because they’re looking down at their phone.
9.
Boys leaving the toilet seat up.
Why
it exists: They forget that they are not the only people using the toilet.
It’s a habit for them.
10. Parking
a car in two spaces.
Why it
exists: It is illegal to take up two spaces. People do this so they don’t
get their cars scratched.
11. Hitting
your toe while barefoot or when wearing open toed shoes.
Why
it exists: This happens to me because I don’t walk with shoes on at home. It
also happens because there is no form of shoe material to protect my toes if I
actually hit them against something.
12. Slow
internet connections.
Why
it exists: There are usually too many people on the same Wi-Fi account so
it slows people’s connections. Bad weather conditions can also impact connections
to the web.
13. Thinking
that you saved your work on your computer and accidentally close it and you
lose it all after working on it for hours.
Why
it exists: Sometimes you’re in a rush to finish and you close it without
realizing that you didn’t save the work.
14. Spam
email.
Why
it exists: Hackers use email to try and get into computers to get private
information.
15. People
that park in disabled spots when they aren’t really disabled.
Why
it exists: People use their family member’s passes or qualify for them,
although not in any way disabled, just so they can park in the closest spot possible.
16. Stepping
in gum.
Why
it exists: People are always throwing away their gum on the streets so one
can easily step on it and get it stuck on their shoe.
17. Delays
at the airport.
Why
it exists: There can be delays due to malfunctions with the airplane itself
or because of severe weather conditions.
18. Second
hand smoke.
Why
it exists: People are inconsiderate when smoking outside. They don’t think
of the people that are around them who don’t smoke and instead exhale right in
your face.
19. Driving
slow in a fast lane on the highway.
Why
it exists: It is the law to move to the right when deciding to drive slower
than the common speed on the highway. People don’t realize that they are going
slower and need to move lanes or they do not know the law. They also may just
be annoying and don’t want to switch lanes.
20. When
you think a parking spot is available but then realize it was a scooter or
motorcycle.
Why it
exists: There are not many spots for two-wheeled vehicles alone, therefore,
it is likely that a scooter or motorcycle will take up a wide spot big enough
for a car.
When I first read this assignment I thought it was going to be pretty easy, but then I began listing things that bothered me and I realized I couldn't think of 20 "bugs" off the top of my head. I decided to think of my daily routines and see what I could think of. I also looked at my surroundings walking to class to see if I can spot any of these "bugs." By then I was able to come up with plenty of them. I realized that I encounter many of my bugs on a daily basis but don't always realize that they're are happening at that exact moment. I guess you can say sometimes these things happen so much that eventually some of them won't bug you as much as they used to.
