I feel like everyday someone is coming up with something and
we are all being exposed to it through social media. Whether it’s a fashion
trend or a new t-shirt business on campus, somehow someone will see it
throughout social media. The best example that I can give about being exposed
to entrepreneurship is from my parents. About eight years ago, they started up
an outdoor advertising business in South Florida with some friends that had the
knowledge about constructing the posts. Each partner has given different inputs
into their business, from advertising to permit codes within the county. It’s been very interesting in learning how much you have
to put in with just choosing a location alone.
I enrolled into ENT 3003 because I needed to take another
elective for my major. A friend of mine took this class last year and they said
it was entertaining. I would like to have a broader perspective on
entrepreneurs and learn more about how to think like one.
Hi Lourdes. You're right, scrolling through Facebook, Instagram, watching videos on youtube there are ads everywhere. Sponsored posts for new products or apps and services. There are even opportunities to get paid for posts. Some people are "social media influencers" where they full-time manage their accounts promoting different things. Who knows where the world of marketing and advertising will be in the next few years.
ReplyDeleteGood luck throughout the semester!
What you're saying is absolutely true. Now, with the implementation of advertisements through social media, we are exposed to more ads than we ever were before. Companies are even getting sneaky about their ads and trying to post as if they are regular people just using and enjoying their products. It is amazing how social media has influenced the way that we live and the products or services that we use.
